September is a lovely time of year to visit the Yorkshire Dales and is always a very popular month with visitors. The school children have gone and a sense of calm returns.
The shows are now coming to an end but there’s still one of our favourites yet to come. Muker Show is on the 4th of September. Last year Bernie was judging the walking sticks, that was his last stint with his judging hat on for a while but we are looking forward to going again this year together.
We are fully booked for the occasion and our guests always make sure they book well in advance for this popular show. The following week is the Hawdraw Brass Band competition and once again we have returning guests who come every year to enjoy this event on Sunday 8th.
Our guest Steven who we mentioned in the August post is back with us at the end of September with his trusty camera we hope so we can see some more of his lovely photos to share with you.
The Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival is in full swing from September 14th- 22nd for the third year running. It’s a fab event that showcases some of the best local produce-if you haven’t tried Wensleydale Cheese where have you been? Find out more about the festival just here.
Our late Summer offer is still available until the end of September with a great £5.00 off per night for any three night or more stay with us, It’s a great chance to get booked for a September break at a great price, we’d love to welcome some new guests to the B&B!
Finally, the 2019 UCI Is in the Yorkshire Dales on the 26th September with the men's junior road race starting in Richmond and snaking it’s way up the Dales and then down to Harrogate. We’ve heard it’s going to be a real spectacle and will definitely be out supporting the riders as they pass almost right by our doorstep.
Finally, following the devastating floods that hit parts of Swaledale, the cleanup operation is going on but The Yorkshire Dales is very much open for business! We want to say thank you for all of the guests who stayed with us throughout the period, it was a little chaotic down in Reeth but the sense of community spirit was admirable and we were proud to welcome you to our area despite the circumstances. Summer is coming to an end and we are now looking forward to the Winter Season here. Any time of Year the Yorkshire Dales is perfect and it is a very popular all-year-round destination. We won’t be putting our feet up just yet!
