Askrigg is a thriving Village in Wensleydale Milton House Bed and Breakfast is located in the center of the village with a village shop ,Deli and 3 pubs close by, We have private parking and secure garage for bikes and motor cycles.

At the heart of Wensleydale lies the gateway town of Leyburn, “A Town for all Seasons”. With spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, unusual local shops and cafés, traditional pubs and a weekly market. Leyburn is a Market Town with a weekly Street Market on Fridays. Also Local Farmers Markets once a month. Although a small town, Leyburn has its own railway station on the re-opened Wensleydale Railway which offers tourist rides throughout the dale, mostly on diesel multiple units but occasionally on a steam train.

Milton House Bed and Breakfast is also ideal base to explore Swaledale the field Barns and Dry stone walls are a distinctive feature of Swaledale it has an abundance of wildflowers; with hillsides of primroses and bluebells and hay meadows bursting with colour of several species of wildflower. Hay meadows are at their best for a very short time after grazing animals have been excluded and before the hay is ready to be cut. Therefore, the best time to see the Muker meadows and other similar meadows such as those in Langstrothdale, Swaledale, Dentdale and Wharfedale is between late May and early July , making Askrigg the ideal location for exploring the surrounding area.
